Karmarkar Museum

Located just 5 minutes away from Kunte Baug Resort is Karmarkar Sculpture Museum. Over 150 intricately crafted sculptures designed by internationally acclaimed sculptor Late Nanasaheb Karmarkar are on display in this museum. Some of the sculptures like ‘Shepherd Boy’, ‘Mother & Child’ etc are so lifelike that you will be bewildered by the craftsmanship in them. This private museum is open to all visitors for which a nominal entry fee of Rs.Five is charged.

Mandwa Jetty

One of the most enjoyable ways to reach Alibaug is by the Mandwa-Rewas Jetty. Starting from Gateway of India in Mumbai the Ferry reaches Rewas in around one & a half hour. Rewas port is around 19 kms away from Alibaug Bus depot. Luxury buses of various travel companies shuttle passengers from Rewas to Alibaug in about half an hour.

Kihim Beach

Just 12 kms away from Alibaug is the scenic Kihim Beach. On the Alibaug Rewas road near the Chondi Kihim junction a by lane leads to the Kihim Beach. Kihim beach is lined with dense vegetation of coconut palms & pine trees. Crystal clear sea, miles and miles of unspoiled landscape make this beach a favoured tourist destination throughout the year.

Kankeshwar Temple

Kanakeshwar - near Alibag is a nice place and famous for cool climate and especially because of old temple of Lord Shiva. The temple is situated on a small hill and the nearby village is ' Mapgaon ' which is almost 12 kms. from Alibag. The hill is almost 1200 feet high and one has to climb 700 - 750 steps to reach the temple. n the mid of the hill one can see 'Nagobacha Tappa' ( a Place of Snakes ) and famous step ' Devachi Payari'.

Murud Janjira

Murud is a village in Raigad district, south to Alibaug. The place is full of coconut and betel nut trees and has a beautiful sea shore. Murud is famous for, the impregnable fort of Janjira situated deep in the sea. The historically renowned capital of the Siddhis of Janjira, Murud is more popular today as a picturesque beach resort. The Janjira fort has a colourful history. As one reaches Murud, you can see the stately mansion built by the Siddhi Nawab of Murud-Janjira. In the 15th century the Rajpuri village was inhabited by fisherfolk and the Nizams ruled the entire shoreline.

Salav Birla Mandir

20 Kms from Alibaug on the Alibaug – Roha route near the Salav village is the beautiful 'Birla Mandir'. Ganesha is the main diety of the temple with ‘Riddhi and Siddhi’ on its either sides. There are small temples of ‘Radha-Krishna’, ‘Shiv-Parvati’ and ‘Suryadeva’ also in the Birla mandir. Aarti at Birla temple is at 9.00 am and 7.00 pm everyday.

Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary

The Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary is the coastal woodland ecosystem a varied species of insects are also found in this sanctuary in Maharashtra. The main attraction of the Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary is the beautiful Giant Indian Squirrel, but this animal is very shy and cautious and hence makes it very difficult for the tourists to catch a glimpse of the popular squirrel.
